MY SIMPLE PHILOSOPHY

Yesterday I woke up early in the morning. This was the first time I did so. I wanted to look for news from today newspapers. I was hoping that what had happened yesterday in University Putra Malaysia would be published in newspapers truthfully and be fair to the university students. Fortunately, the new was exciting!

Many local university students were charged recently because of their so called “anti-AUKU” behaviour. I wonder what had they done to the society or university so that they were called for proceedings? They had sent memorandum to Higher Education Minister and Parliament for a change in the corrupted campus election just because they cared for students’ welfare; they had given opinions and expressed their dissatisfaction through the mass media about the policy implemented by university authority; even some of them had joint peace assemblies which is the right given by the Highest Constitution of Malaysia to tell the world what had happened in their university. They knew they could not just leave it happens in university.

Are these actions and initiatives wrong and forbidden? Are they anti-university? No, they did not do anything wrong. They just do not follow what the university authority wishes to see. They do not obey the University and University College Act (AUKU). It seems like the autocratic emperor ordered you to kill someone who is innocent and you do not follow his will and finally you are also punished to death. They are students who care the society and the country. They are the ideal university students which are welcomed by the society. They do not want to be a puppet. For the sake of Malaysians welfare, they want a better and bigger democratic space in their university and in Malaysia.

Of course, if I were the university authority I would say no to these students: I will dislike them very much. I hate them! What they had done is not a favor to me. I will take strict actions against them to ‘kick’ them out of MY UNIVERSITY. They will disrupt me from being promoted to be the vice chancellor. I want my political life in university be ended with a flying colour result so that in the coming General Election I will be elected. I want to be the Prime Minister so that I can enjoy the wealthiest life style and be the most famous person in the country. These are the things I want. These students are my obstacles; I have to ease them from my vision.

However we know that evil will never conquer the world! Since the very ancient time people were fighting against evil. The war will continue until the death of evil. The world is watching us and what we have done will be justified in the future. I believe that people who are standing beside evil will be punished and people who are doing things to the sake of the world democracy will be praised.
